Dave A Wyatt

Dave A. Wyatt is a United Kingdom chartered patent attorney, European patent attorney and registered Malaysian patent, industrial design and trademark agent.

After working in industry with a major consumer electronics manufacturer, Dave embarked on his career in IP by joining the patent department at the General Electric Company in the United Kingdom. He later worked in private practice with leading patent attorney firms in London and Munich, before joining Henry Goh in 1996.

Dave has lectured and conducted workshops on the subject of patent practice and drafting for the Malaysian patent agent examinations. His comprehensive in-house training on technical, legal and procedural aspects of Intellectual Property protection has led to the successful registration of seven Malaysian patent, industrial design and trademark agents at Henry Goh.

With over 20 years of IP experience, Dave's advice on Intellectual Property protection strategies from the business, technical and legal view points is much sought after. Since 2006, he has appeared before the High Court of Malaya as an expert witness.

Dave has made significant contributions to the field of intellectual property protection, both locally in Malaysia and abroad. As a leading authority on patents and industrial design in Malaysia, he has been consistently nominated in AsiaLaw Leading Lawyers.

Dave is an active member of the Malaysian Intellectual Property Association (MIPA) and is currently serving as a co-opted member of its Executive Committee for the 2010 - 2012 term. He is a Fellow of the UK's Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA), an Associate Member of the UK's Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (ITMA), and a member of the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA) and the International Federation of Industrial Property Attorneys (FICPI).
